London auctioneer Christie’s will be slamming the hammer on February 18th for one lucky buyer who will spend up to an estimated $2.1 million for the only Aston Martin DB10 to be offered for sale. It’s the fifth generation DB to feature in a James Bond movie since Aston Martin’s debut with its DB5 in 1964’s Goldfinger, which also sold at auction in 2010 for 2.6 million pounds.

The DB10 is something of a rare breed given that only ten bespoke hand-built DB10s were produced, and seven of those were destroyed while making the James Bond movie Spectre. The car, which reveals the styling direction for future production models, features a carbon fibre exterior and an interior produced from luxury leathers and carbon fibre inserts.

Under the hood is a 4.7-litre V8 that will hit around 300km/h, and probably the same unit utilised in the current generation V8 Vantage (313kW at 7300rpm and 470Nm at 5000rpm). Weight of the DB10 is unknown, however the carbon fibre exterior would make it a handy track car for the undiscerning buyer.

Given the 50 year difference between the DB10 and DB5, the earlier model surprisingly isn’t far behind spec-for-spec. The original Silver-Birch Bond car produced 210kW at 5500rpm and 390Nm at 3850rpm, with a top speed of 230km/h from its 4.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine.

While the thought of showing up at the swankiest hotel in town with a super cool Aston and a flash tuxedo might make half the sale, there’s a catch – the car can’t be registered for public road use.

However, you will still feel good knowing all proceeds from the sale will be going to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) foundation.
