After taking victory in the 2015 Bathurst 12 Hour, Nissan Motorsport has stepped up its commitment for 2016, with the local branch investing heavily in a 2015-spec GT-R NISMO GT3 to defend its 12 Hour title.

2015 Bathurst 12 Hour winners Florian Strauss and Katsumasa Chiyo will once again drive the GT-R NISMO GT3 at Mount Panorama, with event returnee Rick Kelly adding to the driver lineup.

In the lead to its title defence, Strauss turned his first laps of Phillip Island in the imposingly winged, rear-wheel drive turbo-six beast in preparation. The result? Watch the below video to find out.
