Iconic F-TYPE gains ‘British Design Edition’ enhancements
Jaguar has given its already-iconic F-TYPE a design lift with the introduction of its ‘F-TYPE British Design Edition’.
Based on the 280kW/460Nm supercharged V6 S variant (it’s our pick, incidentally, with a sweeter chassis balance than the V8 behemoths), the F-TYPE British Design Edition adds a stack of standard equipment. It is available in four colours: Caldera Red, Glacier White, Ultra Blue and Ultimate Black.
The new model boasts Jaguar’s exterior sport design pack and 20-inch alloys with a unique satin finish. These are shod with 255/35/20 rubber up front with 295/30/20 in the rear. Jaguar’s Super Performance braking system with red calipers (or black, optionally) is also standarf. British Design Edition badging to the front and rear of the car give this F-TYPE added pose value.
Inside, the theme continues with branded headrests and tread plates. There’s also satin-finish carbon fibre console trim and jet premium leather trim with contrast stitching in a choice of colours.
Tunes are taken care of via a 380W Meridian Sound System with an upgrade to 770W also available.
British Design Edition enhancements can be applied to Coupe and Convertible body styles. Purchasers can also specify a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission for rear-drive, while the all-wheel drive remains auto-only.
They will be on sale from the second quarter of 2016.
