Renault has announced its latest addition to the enduring Megane R.S. lineup. Replacing its 197kW ‘265’ predecessor is the more powerful, and better equipped, 2015 Megane R.S. 275 Cup Premium.

“The Megane R.S. 265 and 275 models are already automotive icons of the Australian street, having won over more buyers here than in almost every other country in the Renault world,” said Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia.

The newest Renault hot-hatch boasts a 4kW boost over the previous Megane R.S. 265 Cup Premium. Alongside the power increase comes features to match. A bespoke Akrapovic exhaust is standard, its raspy and lightweight nature pairing well with the 19-inch Black Speedline Turini wheels.

“With the arrival of the even higher specification Mégane R.S. 275 Cup Premium, driving enthusiasts can now access an example of this powerful and luxurious iconic machine” Justin Hocevar explained.

On the inside you will find an Alcantara steering wheel, gear stick and handbrake grip, a Zamac alloy gear knob and a set of Recaro front seats.

Should you invest in the new Renault, its Brembo front brake calipers will do the majority of your stopping, and its mechanical limited-slip differential will aid in transferring the 201kW to the tarmac

Carried over from the car’s successor are LED daytime running lamps, a reversing camera, R.S. Monitor, R-Link enhanced satellite navigation with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, and dual-zone climate control.

The Renault Megane R.S. 275 Cup Premium will be available in five colours: Glacier White, Diamond Black, Titanium Grey, Pearl White and Liquid Yellow.

The Megane R.S. range comprises of two cars. The 265 Cup which starts at $43,990 (excluding on-road costs) and the new 275 Cup Premium which will set you back $52,990.
