Hyundai will offer punters a closer look at its burgeoning N performance sub-brand at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Slated for display is the ‘latest motorsport challenger’ (that would be the 2016-spec i20 WRC, though the i20 R5 is also imminent… wouldn’t that be a sight to behold?), along with two ‘dynamic’ concept machines.
Hyundai’s N-brand introduction has been long-winded, as it proceeds into the hardcore enthusiast market with caution. But with talk of an all-wheel drive, turbocharged i30 and potentially a bespoke sports car in the works, there is obvious momentum as we move quickly towards 2016.
The N brand is said to ‘build on Hyundai Motor’s successful motorsport experiences and technology capability’ to ‘bring the most thrilling winding road fun to customers who truly love cars.’
On preview in Frankfurt the 2016 i20 WRC was originally slated for Rally Finland this year, however development delays have led to its rally introduction being pushed back to the Monte in 2016.
But perhaps the ultimate expression of what the Hyundai N brand stands for is the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept, designed for the Sony Playstation driving simulator. The Korean brand says this concept ‘truly represents the future potential of Hyundai N’ and it will be seen in Frankfurt.
Finally the Hyundai RM15 concept will be on-show. For more details on this mid-engine beast, check out our earlier coverage: http://www.trailingthrottle.com.au/2060/mid-engine-monster-hyundai-rm15
