The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has made a big splash in the performance car world since its release. Boasting figures that rival the competition on an international level, the latest Corvette is no longer just a muscle car; it’s an American-built supercar.

But if the latest Z06 is too tame for your tastes, Callaway offers a more monstrous alternative.

In a similar vein to Brabus’s work on Mercedes machines, Callaway is famed for turning Corvettes feral, the legendary 400km/h ‘Sledgehammer’ of the 1990s being the ultimate case in point.

Callaway’s current creation adds a 32 per cent larger supercharger to the Z06, along with triple intercoolers and an improved intake system that enhances the original 466kW and 861Nm for 564kW of power… and 1052Nm of torque.

The sprint from 0-100km/h in now achieved in 2.8sec and will see the end of the drag strip in 10.5sec, travelling at 210km/h. That’s 0.4sec and 6km/h faster respectively.

At USD$16,990 on top of the price of the car, we won’t be seeing the Callaway Corvette Z06 in Australia, but it will surely be giving several supercars a run on international racetracks.
