Hyundai mechanics are frantically working to repair Thierry Neuville’s i20 after he lost control during shakedown this morning on the Ruuhimäki stage of Rally Finland.

Both Thierry and co-driver Nicolas Gilsoul walked away unscathed, however it is a tense fight against time for the team to get the damaged car race ready again.

The brunt of the impact was to the rear, where the i20 WRC hit and removed a tree. The collision with the now defunct pencil pine looks painful in video, but Hyundai will be hoping the roll-cage is intact and the car given the all clear from FIA officials before the start of Neste Oil Rally Finland.

**UPDATE: Neuville’s car was deemed repairable — just — and the Hyundai Motorsport WRC mechanics had the car on the line for the opening stage, where Neuville finished with the eighth-quickest time.
