Aston Martin has revealed its DB9 swansong, the DB9 GT, as part of the British marque’s Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrations… and confirmed that it will be available here in Australia.
The last DB9 goes out with style. Weighing in at 1785kg, the GT will make 402kW of power and 620Nm of torque, all thanks to its heavily tuned 5.9-litre V12 under the bonnet. “I’m confident in the result of the shape, the DB9 GT represents the very best of what DB9 can be, and sets the standard for luxury grand tourers in this class,” said Ian Minards, Product Development Director at Aston Martin.
As opposed to the standard DB9, this version will make 22kW more, and will see 100km/h 0.1sec faster, sending the driver from 0-100km/h in 4.5sec. The car is equipped with a six-speed gearbox and is capable of hitting 295km/h before it reaches its electronic limiter.
To date there’s been no official confirmation of when the DB9 GT will be available in Oz, but we can tell you that pricing will start at $368,500 for the coupe, and $399,500 for the convertible variant, the DB9 GT Volante.
On paper the DB9 GT is a fitting finale as Aston Martin moves towards the future with the DB9 replacement, believed to be called DB11.
