Audi has unleashed its facelifted S6 4.0 TFSI sports sedan, and it packs even more punch than before.

The 2015 Audi S6 has ‘Intelligent Matrix LED’ headlight technology illuminating the road and increasing forward vision for the driver at night. Dynamic turning indicators at the front and rear are also available.

Under the bonnet the Audi S6’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 now produces 331kW and 550Nm, an increase of 22kW over the previous generation. Power is delivered via the same seven-speed twin-clutch S tronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive, accelerating the S6 from zero to 100km/h in just 4.4sec.

The V8, which features its inside-V turbochargers, is able to deactivate four of its eight cylinders, helping reduce fuel economy to a claimed 9.4L/100km. The unbalanced (and noisy) harmonics caused by such an arrangement are reduced in the cabin, thanks to Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology.

Inside the dash integrates a Driver Information System (DIS) located between speedometer and tachometer. Powered by the new-gen ‘MIB2’ infotainment system, the driver will have information such as GPS maps within their natural field of vision.

The optional Technik package is available for $4800 and includes Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go, Audi pre-sense plus, Park assist, 360-degree camera and Audi Connect.

Out now, the Audi S6 is priced at $169,900, plus on-road costs.
